When it comes to the visual arts, I'm not concerned about acceptability as much as I would for the songs I write; I don't feel constrained by any convention (the sky is the limit). I like to work on large canvasses because they draw me into the scene and make me feel apart of the story. I'm also fond of bright colors and meticulous in regards to detail and organization. What motivates me to paint, more than anything else, is a fascination with the conundrum of space and time and a sadness that I will not be around to witness the exploration and the great discoveries of new worlds in the coming millennia. To a degree, my paintings are a surrogate for what I won't be able to experience.
